A child under 7 years old can fly unaccompanied with Turkish Airlines. Unaccompanied Minors Booking Procedure and Documents on Turkish Airlines

For both international and domestic flights, Turkish Airlines offers unaccompanied minor service. Parents or legal guardians need to fill out the unaccompanied minor form. If the flight is international, all necessary documents may be required at the customs counter, including children’s passports, travel documents, tickets, and other documents. Under the supervision of the carrier, parents must ensure that their children carry all necessary documentation.

To ensure that all necessary formalities are completed conveniently, Turkey Airlines expects parents and guardians to arrive at the originating airport at least two hours before departure. Istanbul airport has a special check-in counter for unaccompanied minors. However, at other airports, unaccompanied minors have priority at the check-in counter. It is necessary for the person who is dropping off the child to wait in the waiting area near the check-in gate until the child boards the aircraft and the purser is handed over the child. Once the child has been verified by the purser, the child will be handed over only to the specified person at the destination airport. Only the party described in the authorization form by the first party will receive your child.

  • Travelling alone by unaccompanied minors is permitted if the parent or legal guardian permits it.
  • It is important that children traveling without a guardian arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to their flight. Airports give priority to children traveling unaccompanied. Furthermore, at Istanbul Airport, there is a special counter for our child passengers.
